Ballet Freaks-How I Got into the Academy of Ballet

Another critique was speaking about the teaching method in Academy of Ballet. Frankly couldn't agree with this critic as truly among the best parts about this ballet academy is Åpen Skole the warm, friendly atmosphere that is nurture here. As a young student, never once did I sense scolded or verbally harassed by an instructor (who, incidentally is a former top-level competitor). This was an academy because 1977 and during my seven years as a student there were very few incidents of this kind. Another positive thing about the area is the simple fact that many levels of dancers have been catered for here, and that's another thing that I love about it.

I had been requested to write a review and share my ideas on Zorya's ballet class. Initially I was hesitant to do this but I knew that if she had been a good teacher then this would be a favourable review. In the end, it was a personal encounter and I believed it'd be unfair not to put it in the open. Therefore I started thinking about my experience in the class and how I liked the teacher.

Zorya brought up the title of her late father repeatedly after teaching at the academy and she explained that this was something he constantly encouraged her to perform. I was shot by his passion for ballet and his enthusiasm for helping young dancers develop their skills. When I had been taking courses at the academy under his tutelage, he was come in my ballet course just after I had set out on my very first dance lesson also spent several weeks . This proved to be a really special touch. He also worked in his own classroom and invited me to take my studies seriously.

It had been obvious from the manner Zorya talked of her parents, both of whom she had never satisfied, that they had been proud of her. They were both warm helpful and encouraging and provided lots of support within my first few years at the academy. I liked spending some time together and chatting to them in my dance life and their family experiences. These new friends made an immediate impact on me as I hadn't met any before in my dance classes. They blended an engaging style of teaching with an extremely caring attitude. These two qualities are really a blessing and I am quite thankful that Zorya along with her parents did the academy a excellent service by providing me such fabulous new friends to spend time with!

Another part of Zorya's character, which I found very inspiring was her enthusiasm for the art form. The academy is ideal to providing opportunities for young girls to develop their abilities and strategies. My experience as a ballet student has instructed me that the trick to learning is having fun and loving teaching as much as performing. Zorya's reassuring words as she invited me to test different types of teaching and also the exciting way in which she invited me to try out different teaching styles made it clear to me that she adored her job and loved becoming an instructor.

What I found in her program for a teaching credential was that she had composed a narrative citation needed to submit an application for a teaching position in the academy. This storyline citation included her love of dancing and her urge to teach dance. This was great to read and incredibly descriptive of her nature and dancing. I found myself genuinely inspired by her story and her enthusiasm for dancing. It certainly made me think differently about dancers in general.

Additionally, I found it quite inspiring to see the academy provides courses for all ability levels. I was dismissed by this because, quite frankly, I have always felt a little intimidated by dance classes. I would have loved to be aware there was a way to progress from a novice dancer to a newcomer and then up the ladder into the level of professional painters. It is also nice to find that the academy encourages its dancers to sense and behave like professionals in their chosen field. In fact, the only requirement to join the academy is a dance audition and a completed dance poll. No previous experience is essential to register!

In the long run, I am rather proud to be part of the revolutionary establishment and I look forward to every course and every performance opportunity provided to me personally as a dance artist at the Academy of Ballet in New York.
